Austin Bound

I am bubbling with anticipation and excitement about the weekend to come!! Me and the mister are packing up and heading south to AUSTIN!! It is only a few hours drive away, but this city moves at a completely different pace. The city is host to everyone from the crazy old hippies to the young hipsters and everything in between!

This weekend we are heading to the capital with a purpose; to attend an annual event called the Lonestar Round Up for the very first time.

For those of you who may not know, I am a lover of vintage fashion. 1950s fashion to be precise. I love the elegance, beauty and chic style that every woman seemed to have possessed during this time.

The Round Up is a celebration of this era. There will be three days of cars, clothes and music. If you can't make it, don't worry. I will be taking lots of pics and sharing them as we enjoy!!

What are you doing this weekend? I would love to hear about your exciting adventures!!

Rain drops keep falling on my head

I find that rain always puts me in a wonderfully mellow kind of mood. The kind of mood that when paired with the sound track of Billie and an evening of cuddling can be unlike any other!

The drizzle also gives me the perfect excuse to wear one of my favorite accessories..... rain boots!! What is your favorite rain day moment? What do you love to wear in stormy weather??

Items I love: boots, pants, shirt, umbrella and head scarf

I also love this article about how to wear your rain boots!!

It's all about the perspective

Lately I have been feeling a little down and out. I think a lack of inspiration is bound to do that to a girl. I have felt overwhelmed by the monotony of work and underwhelmed by my drive to discover new outlets and challenge myself.

Balancing the day in and day outs of life has made me momentarily forget to create time for creation. With that said, yesterday was a good day. I stumbled upon an amazing photography site that shook me up. Her mixture of art and fashion is exactly what I love!

For my last birthday my mister gave me an incredible gift, my first working polaroid camera. I have to admit that my use of the gift has been somewhat limited, but that is all going to change! Last night I dusted off the beauty and we snapped a few shots.

If you have a love of polaroid but don't know where to feed it, check out the Impossible Project for film stocks and info!

Pretty Little Things

In my eyes, pretty little things are only made more sweet by adding personalized details. This past weekend I had the pleasure of creating a few fun gifts for my sweet friend Ivy to decorate her engagement party.

I wanted to make special decoratives to not only brighten the scene, but to add a sense of intimacy for the guests. Using the color pallet of Ivy's choosing, I constructed table runners for each of the three tables and pillows to blanket the seats. To give the items the personal flare, I screen printed the fabric with the couples initials and names. The end product was a simple, yet sophisticated gift that the couple can enjoy beyond the party.

Look here to enjoy a few of my favorite personalized gifts!!

I love these cards for every occasion!

Amazing way to keep your favorite photos alive
